College Advising

With college admissions becoming increasingly competitive, I help students ease their anxiety, differentiate themselves, and find their perfect fit.

As an advisor with a background in the arts, I prioritize helping students hone their writing and feel confident in their words. By focusing on saying something true to them rather than saying something they think admissions officers want to hear, not only do students leave as better writers, they create a more authentic application.

Holistic Advising

  • Help students consider their coursework, creating a dynamic and individualized academic plan for each year of high school.

  • Guide students through writing exercises to better familiarize themselves with the modes of personal writing before they’re feeling the pressure

  • Guide students through organizing and choosing their extracurricular activities to best reflect their current and future interests, their leadership skills, and the depth of their commitments

  • Help students develop a clear and actionable timeline covering everything from standardized test registration to asking for letters of recommendation to actually applying and later seeking scholarship opportunities

  • Using research, experience, and a dynamic network of faculty and alumni across the country, create a college list based on each student’s academic profile, goals, interests, and priorities

  • Provide guidance through thoughtfully researching, visiting, and appraising colleges and universities

  • Coach the brainstorming, drafting, and revision of all written aspects of an application

Essay Coaching

  • Focus on three modes of application writing: the personal essay, supplemental essays unique to each university, and the student activity list

  • Guide students through writing and brainstorming practices

  • Coach students through initial drafts, revisions, and final edits of their personal essay

  • Coach students through researching, drafting, and revising each individual supplemental essay

  • Help students encapsulate their extra-curricular activities in a way that best highlights their participation and organize each activity appropriately
