Sara Peck has been helping students put pen to page since 2009.

As an essay specialist, she focuses on helping both enthusiastic and reluctant writers find their voices on the page, highlight their individuality, and grow more comfortable talking and writing about themselves. This results in compelling and deeply authentic essays.

Her creative writing students have been the recipients of Regional and National Scholastic Writing Awards and YoungArts recognition; they have gained admittance into highly regarded summer writing programs, high schools, colleges, and MFA programs of their choice. Her college advising students, too, have worked hard to gain admittance into one their top choice schools each year as well as receive merit-based scholarship support.

Sara is a writer herself; you can find her work here. When she’s not working with students, she’s slowly working on a novel manuscript and spends time with her husband and their two hound dogs.

She works as the college advisor at the University School of the Lowcountry and is a member of the National Association for College Admissions Counseling (NACAC) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).

She has been working as a writing coach and tutor for the past fifteen years and as a college advisor and essay specialist for the past ten. In addition, she has taught college-level English since 2013 and was named the SC Independent School Association’s High School Teacher of the Year in 2021. In 2024, she served as the Visiting Writing Professor in the College of Charleston MFA program. She has been teaching with Write of Summer, a creative writing summer camp for kids, since 2009.
